Right next to the site a golf course is under construction and is due to be finished next year.

The airport is 15 km away, enough so that the airplanes are not disturbing.

The Greek island of Rhodes is about 60 km away. 

A gravel road connects Ak-deniz Site with the road from Ortaca to Sarigerme. 

The owners of the, around 190 houses are mostly Turkish. About 20 % of the houses are owned by foreigners from the U.K., Germany, Switzerland and The Netherlands. 

The site is manned with 24 hour security.

In addition to the large central communal pool, there is a soccer pitch, basketball, volleyball and children's playground. 

There is a free water taxi down the river to beautiful Sarigerme beach.

Some of the leisure activities in the immediate area include beach and water sports, horse riding, nature walks and rambling, sea and river fishing, yachting and organized boat trips, cycling and white water rafting on river.

Ak-deniz site is organized as a cooperative according to Turkish law (Turkish: 'Site').  The cooperative is owner of the ground as well as commonly used assets (e.g. the pool). 

Every owner of a house has to be a member of the cooperative. 

Once every year, there is a members meeting held where the budget is discussed and decided. As most of the house owners are Turkish, this meeting is also held in Turkish language.

Here the monthly fees are decided, from which the staff is paid (reception, gardener, other employees) as well as several costs are paid (for the pool, the boat, repairs etc.)
